I wanna be a runner.

I wanna be a runner.

I have some twitter friends and fellow bloggers that post their miles and how they're running. And it's not that I'm competitive (OK well maybe some of it is), but it's something I've always wanted to do. Be a runner. A fellow blogger posted about how at some point he went from not wanting to run to just doing it and now he just finished his first 5K. This is something I've visualized and even more so after close to 60 lbs lighter.

Running a 5K has been on my "bucket list" for quite a while. And for some reason running for exercise has just always appealed to me. Especially now that the weather has cooled off. With the most recent knee injury I'm frightened and timid to get back into running, but my heart really yearns to get back to the pavement.

Perhaps this weekend or Monday I'll restart the C25K Day One and go from there.

I've never been accused of not being tenacious.

  1. are you actually running on pavement? i'm not familiar enough with brusitis to know if that makes it worse, but i have issues with shin splints that worsen if i'm on concrete. you might try cross-country instead. it's a bit harder of a work out, and you can't just totally zone out if you're having to watch for tree roots and rocks in your path and shit, but i think hitting dirt or grass is a bit easier on your joints and limbs than concrete.
