Quick Monday Morning Update

So in December I did a fairly good job of keeping myself in check and exercising well with, of course, some free days during the holidays for festivities.

Starting January, I joined Roni's DietBet (founder of Fitbloggin and generally awesome) and from a week ago weigh in to this morning I've lost 2.4 lbs.  Most of that surely being water weight but nonetheless great to see myself lowering.  It's a group where you put in a money amount and then it pools together.  For everyone who loses 4% of their weight, they get a share in the pool.  Pretty cool, right?

I've been using (app on phone and website) to track calories and nutrients.  Using my elliptical for 20min a day (or subbing a short mile or two run) for cardio.  I downloaded Gorilla Workout on my phone and have been doing those (about 5-10 min strength workouts) but try to hit my gym class once or twice a week for the Art of Strength class.  This class is a hardcore circuit/bootcamp-ish type of workout.  So I love leaving in a sweat and waking up sore the next morning.  Besides that I'm attempting at least a 1:00  min plank a day and one yoga pose a day.  As well as trying to drink at least 80 oz of water a day.

It seems like a lot and it is, but it is all little things.  And little changes lead to big results.

So as I head into the first full week of January I'm hoping that I can continue the momentum and see the results on the scale.  Onward!

  1. You rock with that backbend thing! I wouldn't be able to come close to that. Great job on all the workouts, too - I hope you get a nice share of that pot for all your hard work.
