Two weeks away!
The anticipation is crazy... the social media feed frenzy is flying with conversations about hugs, plans, etc.
And I. can't. wait.
In preparation for 4 days of pure fun, laughter, and hugs I've been hunkering down and really sticking to my meal plan and working out each day. For weight loss, yes. But also to make myself feel proud and worthy of being at Fitbloggin.
Of course I already feel that I'm an amazing person. And I know that my friends at Fitbloggin love me for who I am. But I know what I'm capable of... I know that I can be better... and to feel like a success I want to know I worked hard before Fitbloggin.
Plus, I want to eat and drink and not feel like a fatty. #truth.
I'm also excited because I'm getting a tattoo at Fitbloggin. Inscribing "DubyaWife" on my body permanently. With my friends there for support. (My previous tattoo I got on my back when I hit my under 200lbs goal.)
DubyaWife is a moniker that started as a video game logon. My husband's name is William... the first letter is W (or Dubya) so he went by Dubya... so I went by DubyaWife. Seemed innocent and fun. It has NOTHING to do with George W. Bush.
When I started my blog it was called "Day One" and to keep names secret I referred to myself as DubyaWife. My daughter as DubyaKid (now DubyaTeen) etc. Things just kind of naturally progressed from there.
After almost 5 years of living and blogging as DubyaWife... I realize it's so much more than a name.
It is a wonderful representation of my commitment to my husband (married for 14 years, together for 17). He's my rock. He's been with my every step of this journey. I am his DubyaWife.
But it goes on to be so much more...
You see when I think about "DubyaWife" I picture a vibrant, confident, ambitious, and happy woman. Someone who has pushed through barriers and really embraced life.
DubyaWife is me. I am her.
This tattoo will remind me of that, for the rest of my life.
A Surprise Is Coming
In addition to a traditional Fitbloggin Photo Dump post and a Fitbloggin Recap be on the lookout for a post on June 30th. Something interesting...
